Dec. Lenses: Edging
& Glazing
Suitable decentred lens
- choose the right lens depending on wrap frame angle
(WFA).
Alignment
- align the lens with the square tag to Nasal;
- the 0-180 axis of the lens should align with the
0-180 axis of the frame;
- do NOT rotate the lens in the frame.
Horizontal Placement
- fit the Geometrical centre horizontally at the pupil
centre;
- for low WFA you can shift the lens horizontally
toward the nasal side;
- for high WFA you can shift the lens horizontally
toward the temporal side.
Vertical Placement
- position the lens vertically with the Geometrical
centre or 0-180 axis at a typical pupil height for
the frame.
Polarization: edging
& glazing
Alignment
- align the 0-180 axis of the lens with the 1-180
axis of the frame;
- for decentered lenses align the lens with the biggest
tag to Nasal;
- do NOT rotate the lens in the frame.
Bevel
- try to keep the bevel in the center of the edge
of the lens;
- avoid negative bevel (permitted on Injected Pol.
PC);
- avoid stress to the lens with smooth or inappropriate
cutters;
- use a convenient cutter speed rotation and feed
motion.
Checking
- use a polarizer for the determination of the axis
of polarization;
- the axis of the lenses should be aligned with the
horizontal axis of the oculars
