SOLA Sunlens is the first sunlens manufacturer to be awarded the COLTS Performance Seal for a polycarbonate lens. SOLA Tough Eyes™ Polycarbonate Lens has received COLTS Laboratories "Performance Seal" which validates all the benefits of SOLA Tough Eyes™ superior scratch and impact resistance polycarbonate lens. The Performance Seal is part of a quality program that requires a manufacturer to undergo an established number of rigorous testing as required by the ophthalmic industry independent testing facility of COLTS Laboratories.

Mr. John Young, President of COLTS Laboratories is both an engineer and optician whose many achievements include the Man of the Year Award from the National Academy of Opticinary and the first Presidents Award from the Opticians Association of America.

COLTS conducts independent testing on a wide range of eyeglass lens, sunglass lens and eyeglass frame products. The awarding of the seal is based on results of all tests in their database of more than ten thousand different types of lenses.

The COLTS Performance Seal certifies that the tests as completed conform to specified and draft standards or specified test procedures and thus meet COLTS Laboratories strict performance standards.
