MIDO 2002
From May 3rd through the 6th, the worlds major players flocked to Milan, Italy to participate in MIDO, a prestigious optical tradeshow that has been a magnet for both long-established and emerging key figures in the industry for over the past 30 years.

This year, SOLA Sunlens premiered its spring and summer fashion lens collection with amazing visual wall displays. Each collection: Visionary, Independence, Romance and Exotica all featured specific influences that were key in determining the new colors and styles for the upcoming season. Along with the fashion collection a new and innovative indoor sunglass was introduced, The Ten-Dance sunglass. This revolutionary pair of glasses has a unique lens that radiates an illuminating glow when exposed to ultraviolet lights. The Ten-Dance lenses were developed by the technology experts at SOLA Sunlens and are part of the fashion forward Vogue collection available from Luxottica.

In conjunction with Luxottica, SOLA Sunlens held a well attended press conference in which the Vice President and General Manager of SOLA Sunlens, Gaetano Sciuto presented Cristina Adamo with an award for her design on the Ten-Dance sunglass. The contest originated at the Grand Design Event in Paris, that recognized entries from all various design sectors. Cristina's design was unique and fit well with the "club" image and style the Ten-Dance sunglasses were meant to portray.

Vision Expo East 2002

International Vision Expo East 2002 was held March 15th through March 17th at the Jacob K. Javitz Convention Center in New York City. The three-day event catered to the ophthalmic industry and hosted over 650 of the leading international companies, displaying the latest in optical products and technologies.

At Vision Expo East, SOLA Sunlens continued to support its "technology" campaign through various banners displayed throughout the show. This year, SOLA Sunlens teamed with Nike and introduced the Nike Golf Tint Lens, a patented performance lens tint specifically designed to enhance the visual needs of golf, as well as a new a proprietary sunglass prescription program, Nike Max Rx. In addition to these latest ventures with Nike, SOLA Sunlens also launched the Flex-Eyes™ lens and showcased the Spring/Summer fashion collection for 2003.
